In addition to being a qualified Exercise Physiologist with years of experience in rehabilitation and injury management, Adrian is an elite athlete, having once been ranked fifth in the world in freestyle skating. Following his retirement from competition, he coached the World Team for two years.
Adrian started his career with Lifecare working with their team of Physiotherapists to delivery injury-specific and health-based programs. He then joined IRS as a rehabilitation consultant, providing support and rehabilitation to injured workers. Adrian conducted work capacity assessments in conjunction with treating physicians, as well as postural assessments and physical and injury rehabilitation. He was also heavily involved in the design, promotion and deliverance of appropriate intervention and injury prevention programs for various companies, with a particular focus on back care.
In 1997, Adrian joined Challenge Stadium as a Senior Exercise Physiologist and OSH Representative, providing one-on-one rehabilitation and development to clients that include elite athletes from Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) programs, conducting regular ergonomic and worksite assessments, and liaising with medical professionals to design appropriate exercise programs for their clients. He has had direct involvement in the development of a number of programs offered by Challenge Stadium and assisted with staff development whilst also catering for the OSH needs of the centre.
Adrian has extensive experience in liaising and relating to people at many levels including insurance, legal, medical and allied health professionals.
Growing up predominately along the West Australian coast and always being heavily involved in competitive sport, Adrian finds himself drawn to any sport that challenges his mental and physical capabilities. This includes wakeboarding/ water skiing, snowboarding, inline skating, mountain biking, running and weight training! However, when it’s finally time to relax at the end of a hard day at work or play, he enjoys nothing more than sitting down to a good meal and a drink or two with family and friends.
