Jamie Giles
Senior Consultant

BSc (Human Movement), University of Western Australia

Jamie is an experienced injury prevention, injury management and occupational health and safety consultant, specialising in workers’ compensation. He has a wealth of experience working in the sport and recreation industry, and is currently serving as a boundary umpire with the Australian Football League.

Jamie’s career started at St John of God Hospital, primarily in Corporate Health, which involved conducting risk assessments and writing back care programs. He also conducted heart health checks on at-risk groups, writing and analysing individual exercise programs.

He has a number of years experience in osteoporosis prevention and management. This involved assessment of bone strength, nutritional analysis and conducting specialised personal training, seminars and workshops.

Prior to joining Aurenda in July 2005, Jamie worked at the Insurance Commission of WA focussing on claims management for workers’ compensation and public liability.

Jamie has facilitated a number of training sessions focussing on injury prevention, risk management and occupational health and safety. He is a specialist in the field of ergonomic assessment.

Life is always a rollercoaster in the Giles household. Jamie tends to be a rather energetic maniac with things on the go all the time. In addition to work, he continues to train hard and run ridiculous distances as a boundary umpire in the AFL.

Relaxation for Jamie involves eating – wherever, whenever, as long as it's healthy. Otherwise it's music, movies and whatever gadgets he’s bought that week. Jamie loves his gadgets!
